A joint concert of People’s Artist of Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan Muyassar Razzakova and People’s Artist of Russia Makval Kasrashvili under the poetic name “Vocal parallels of spring” was held in the Grand Theater of Opera and Ballet named after A. Navoi. It was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Uzbekistan, “Forum of Culture and Art of Uzbekistan” Foundation and “Uzbektheater” Creation Association, Uzbekistan Today newspaper reported.
For a long time the Tashkent audience will not forget this unusual concert that greatly impressed it with splendid and wonderful talent of both well-known opera masters who performed arias from the best operas of Uzbek and world classics.
“The concert is not accidentally named as “Vocal parallels” because it is not just a meeting of two popular opera figures but also intersection of Uzbek and Russian operas”, noted Andrei Slonim, director of this project, honored cultural worker of Uzbekistan, in an interview with the UT. “Muyassar Razzakova is an Uzbek opera artist who joined to the world culture. Makvala Kasarashvili was born in Georgia and brought up by the greatest Russian singer Vera Davidova. And this concert is a demonstration of excellent arias as well as how much the opera language is international and mutually enriching the culture of each country and nation. Such a particular form of mutual addition has shown more clearly their talents and originality”, he added.
It is a good tradition for the Grand Theater to organize joint concerts of opera stars. Two years ago it hosted a performance of Muyassar Razzakova with such prominent artists of Russia as Elena Obraztsova and Zurab Sotkilava. The concert opened the series of such joint performances of M. Razzakova with Elena Obraztsova in Russia, Egypt, Korea and Germany. The Uzbek opera singer’s success was indisputable everywhere. And her joint concert with Makvala Kasrashvili added new paints and features to her creative portrait. Today Muyassar Razzakova is remarkable figure in the vocal and opera art of Uzbekistan. She is worthily popular and favorite not only in her Motherland but also abroad. Her creation is clearly and originally connects two power branches of culture: Uzbek national and international.
“We are proud of that the world opera stars come to Uzbekistan. To perform with them on a stage is a great honor and valueless experience for us”, said Muyassar Razzakova in an interview with the UT. “The fact that we managed to realize our idea of conducting a joint concert with Makvala witnesses the development of mutual interest and relations between our countries”, she said.
Makvala Kasrashvili has passed through a brilliant way to the top of opera art. Her repertoire consists of parts from more than 100 operas. This unique list causes a sense of deep respect and that of largest world stages where she has performed presents a great international success of this opera singers such as “Metropolitan opera” (New-York), Vienna opera, Arena de Verona, Bavarian opera (Munich). In December of 1968 the popular collective of Russian Bolshoy Theater toured in Tashkent. And young Makvala Kasrashvili had a strong impression on the audience with her performances. After 40 years she arrived in the Uzbek land again.
“I am deeply impressed with those things which I have seen after 40 years”, shared Makvala Kasrashvili her impression with the UT. “I cannot help admiring the beauty of Tashkent that can hardly be recognized. My recollections about Samarqand and Bukhara are still vivid because I got acquainted with unique cultural traditions of Uzbek people there. I am pleased to emphasize the attention paid in Uzbekistan to the development of culture and art. Especially, the activity of Navoi’s theater causes great admiration”.
