The CEC has made decision to announce the official start of election campaign on elections to the Legislative Chamber [lower house] of Oliy Majlis [parliament] of Uzbekistan, regional, district and city Kengashs [councils] of people\'s deputies on 22 September 2009. In line with Part 2 of Article 117 of the Constitution of Uzbekistan, elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan, regional, district and city Kengashs of people\'s deputies should be held on the first Sunday of the third decade of December, i.e. 27 December 2009. Members of the CEC approved some proposals and instruction regulating the order of elections process. The meeting discusses other issues as well concerning the authorities of the CEC, on which corresponding decisions have been made. As a reminder, the terms of constitutional powers of Oliy Majlis, regional, district and city Kengashs of people\'s deputies expire in December this year.
