UzLiDeP Has Held Its Fifth Congress

www.gzt.uz - On November 8 2009 the 5th Congress of the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People – Liberal-democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) was held in Tashkent
The chairperson of the UzLiDeP Political Council, Mr. M.Teshabayev said that the Congress has analyzed the activity of the party for the last 5 years in a constructive and self-criticism way. “There have not been used all opportunities the party had and there remain unused reserves on promoting programmatic tasks and defending interests of the party’s electorate. We have to pay more attention to elaborating and implementing decisions on large-scale social projects,” he noted.
The Congress adopted the substantive provisions of the electoral platform of the party which is a political and ideological basis for the participation of the UzLiDeP in the elections. It identified the most important priorities for the party. Besides the party Congress has nominated its candidates to run for deputies of the Legislative Chamber, Oliy Majlis in the forthcoming elections to be held on December 27 2009.
It is to be reminded the UzLiDeP was set up in 2003 and it has more than 160 thousand members.
